As you all know that budget for 2010 and 2011 has bee announced. Although there are some controversial issues regarding GST, VAT and other taxes, however tax for Telecoms Sector has 0% increase for 2010-2011. Currently the existing tax that is in shape of Federal Excise Duty (FED) is 17%.

This is good news for mobile users that they will not pay more tax in 2010-2010 for SMS, Calls or any other service used. Still 17% is very high, and government must reduce it to 15% at least, so that Mango peoples can get some relief from government.

A useful information that i would like to share with you is, that on Telecoms Sector there is no GST, but FED. GST mean General Sales Tax and FED means Federal Excise Duty, so it should be noted that on Telecoms Sector the tax is charged through Federal Excise Duty and not using GST concept.
